Enjoy the excitement of jet skiing in the beautiful waters of Kaanapali Beach. Rentals are available by half hour or by the full hour on HONDA Aquatraxs that can handle riders up to a weight of 420 lbs. So 1 or 2 people are no problem. But a third person is not recommended for beginners (very difficult to get 3 people back on the machine if you fall off).
A red inflatable boat will shuttle passengers from beach to a platform (Jet Ski Island located approx. 2,500 feet from shore) where they will sign rental contracts, be fitted into life vests, and given a full on the water instruction by one of the jet ski instructors before riding time starts. Jet Ski area is over 400 acres of Open Ocean. Any time the jet skis come near the barge they must keep the traffic flowing the same directions. Other than that, they can do whatever they want in the area as along as they keep a safe distance from other water crafts (which is about 300 feet).

|Jet Ski is the brand name of personal watercraft (PWC) manufactured by Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.. The name, however, has become a genericized trademark for any type of personal watercraft. Since the riding of jet skis has evolved through the 90s, other companies like Yamaha, Bombardier and Honda have joined the sport to make it into a worldwide sport in both racing and freestyle. A Jet Ski is propelled by jets of water, not props. In Maui, you'll be riding on one of the most powerful jet skis made today - the Honda Aquatrax.|
To ride, attach the engine shut-off clip to your life-vest before you start your jet ski. Next, place both your hands on the handlebars and slowly squeeze the throttle with your first two fingers. While you are in close proximity to the shore or dock, keep your speed at trolling, the lowest level. Once away from the dock, have fun, but be safe. Stay inside the boeys while you ride and avoid other jet skiers and boats. Be sure to stay aware of your surroundings at all times when you are riding your jet ski.
You CAN be injured by riding a jet ski. Jet skis are relatively safe, but because they are so much fun, people tend to forget their safety zone and sometimes collide with other skis or boats. Pacific Jet Sports (MAUI JET SKI) mandates keeping at least 300 feet apart from the nearest jet ski or boat , be aware of your surroundings - always look right and left as you ride - and most importantly, be safe & have fun! YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR INJURIES AND DAMAGE TO YOUR JET SKI RENTAL.
That is a really good question. If you are trying to save money buying rides by the hour is your best bet. Each one hour ride in Maui is $99+tax. Half-hour rental is $78+tax - ($21 gets 3o extra minutes of fun!).

A. Life jackets are provided at no additional cost.
Q. What happens if I fall off my jet ski while riding?
A. Other than getting wet, that's about it! Relax, the water temperature is roughly 80 degrees year round. Just know that you are connected to your jet ski at all times with an emergency cut off switch. If you should fall off your running jet ski for any reason, the cut off switch will immediately kill the machine and your jet ski will not leave you behind!. You would then simply re-board the jet ski from the rear of the machine and reboard as stated from our jet ski instructors briefing prior to your rental. Once aboard, insert key, restart your machine and away you go!
Ride with Confidence:
1. Sit comfortably and attached the emergency shut-off clip to your life jacket. (The engine will automoatically stop should you ride like a big Kahuna and slip off! No worry break... no prop... just get back on via the ladder bars, reattach the key, press the green button and it's "Hana Hoe" time for more ocean fun!
If this is your first time, relax - riding a jet ski is fun & easy! First: Attach the engines emergency shut-off clip to your life-vest before you start your jet ski. This clip is a precaution to ensure that the engine is killed automatically should you be thrown from the jet ski. If you do fall off, don't worry, there is no prop on a jet ski, just climb back on from the rear, check to be sure that your life jacket is secure, reattach the key, and then start the motor.
Next, place both your hands on the handlebars push the start button and slowly squeeze the throttle with the first two fingers of your right hand. While you are in close proximity to the dock, keep your speed at trolling, the lowest level. These speeds are generally 10 mph or less and do not create any wake.
As you begin, we recommend practice making turns at trolling speed until you are comfortable with the sensation of your weight shifting with the jet ski. Stay inside the boeys while you and avoid other jet skiers and boats.
Safety Tip: Always stay 300 yards or 100 meters apart. Be sure to stay aware of your surroundings at all times when you are riding your jet ski. If possible, go out on the water with a friend so that you will have help in case of an emergency.
A complete lesson and safety briefing is given. Everyone must wear a lifejacket. Your rental time won't begin until you start your machine. There is no rush, no hurry. Rental time begins when you start your machine. Anyone can do it, non swimmers and physically challenged.
